Chris and Lori

Chris, Lori, Stephanie and Ryne joined the work of Pioneer Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea in March of 1998. Their first term they worked in Madang as a support team. Chris worked for the Technical Services Department as well as in the Computer Department. Lori worked in the Finance Department.

Their second term in PNG began on August of 2000. They attended the Pacific Orientation Course for 16 weeks. February of 2001 they completed a survey of the Anamqura language group near Josephstaal.

In June of 2001 Chris and Todd Owen completed another survey in the Sob language group near Usino. From this survey it was determined that the Sob would make a viable language project. A three day Translation Awareness Workshop was held at Usino village (Bantik) in September. Then in October of 2001 Chris and Lori first went to Igoi village to begin learning the Sob language. In July 2007 the book of Jonah was dedicated. This was the first book of scripture in the Sob language. They are currently working on the gospel of Luke.

Chris also works doing Consultant Checks of scriptures for other language groups in PNG.
