The Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 1998 in our nation.   Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy.  Each shawl begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient.  The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl.  Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is wrapped and sent on its way.  The purpose of the shawl is to show God*s love in happy times and in times of need.  Patterns are easy and can be anything you choose.  We also will be happy to teach you to knit or crochet.  A person may work on his or her own time and contribute, yet not attend any group times.  Our group also works on smaller pieces for our servicemen or ladies to be worn in their helmets or put in their pockets---to remind them God is always with them and we are praying for them.
