New Horizon seeks to be a group of people who are looking to the needs of others. Whether we find ourselves in the community of Heyworth, the state of Illinois, or anywhere around the world, we want to be seeking out the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people who need help. Once the needs are discovered, it is our calling and privilege to use our time, money, and resources to help take care of the people we encounter. In these acts of service we find the evidence of our love of Jesus Christ.
Domestic MinistriesNHCC supports several ministries outside our church on a regular, on-going basis, while also donating to special projects as needed. Here in the United States, we support several Christian Campus groups at universities, including Illinois State University, Eastern Illinois University, and The University of Illinois. We also support Little Galilee Christian Assembly.
Short-Term TripsNHCC has had the privilege of serving alongside multiple long-term ministries through short term mission trips. Locally, we have served with organizations like Midwest Food Bank, Worn Again Too and Salvation Army. Throughout the United States, we have partnered with ministries like PCS Counseling, Louisville Homeless Shelter, and Relevant Ministries. Additionally, every other year we offer an international mission trip, often with our long-term international partners. We have been lucky to serve with both Journey into Hope in the Dominican Republic, Niños de Mexico in Mexico and GO Ministries in the Dominican Republic.

International MissionariesAt New Horizon, we are overjoyed to have several international partnerships. We provide monthly support to international ministries and missionaries including Journey Into Hope in the Dominican Republic, Mioche and Rosie Rock in Haiti, Johnny and Janelle in Southeast Asia, Dean and Lisa Groetzinger in Australia, and Chris and Lori Urton in Papua New Guinea.
Benevolence MinistryThe main purpose of the Benevolence Ministry is to provide financial assistance to our church members and regular attenders as needs arise. Limited financial assistance may be given to members of the Heyworth community and beyond. The Benevolence Committee meets on a regular basis and handles all inquiries with strict confidence. The Benevolence Fund is an off-budget fund and is not part of the General Fund. Tax deductible contributions can be made and designated to the Benevolence Fund. If you have a financial need, please contact the church office or any member of the Benevolence Committee.
