The Congregational Care ministry exists to care for one another in times of need. There are seasons of life when we face sickness, loneliness, or grief. The Congregational Care ministry seeks to come alongside people during such times to provide comfort & hope. We do this through providing prayer shawls, meals, funeral dinners, and visiting those who may be in the hospital, nursing home, or unable to leave their homes. We also want to be a church that rejoices with one another through wedding and baby showers. The library is also part of our congregational care ministry as a way to provide educational material to the congregation.
The Prayer Shawl MinistryThe Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 1998, combining compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as those in celebration and joy. Our group also works on smaller pieces for our servicemen or ladies to be worn in their helmets or put in their pockets---to remind them God is always with them and we are praying for them. Each shawl begins with prayers and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. Upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is wrapped and sent on its way. The purpose of the shawl is to show God's love in happy times and in times of need. Anyone may join our efforts, as patterns are easy and can be anything you choose and we would be happy to teach anyone to knit or crochet. A person may work on his or her own time and contribute, yet not attend any group times.

NHCC LibraryThe NHCC Library has been built from scratch over many years. We have a lot of great resources for Sunday School lessons, family and personal devotions, and bible study groups. We also have a lot of family friendly books, videos, CDs and DVDs to check out. To take a look at our full selection, just stop by the library! It is the first door on the right in the hallway on the south side of the gym.

Meals MinistryThe Meals Ministry is made up of members who prepare meals for anyone with a need, whether in a time of celebration or a time of sickness or loss. This might include providing meals due to a surgery, a loss, a hospitalization, a new baby, etc. We schedule meals for every other night for 2 weeks and can extend the time if necessary. We do not limit this outreach to NHCC only. Please contact us if you or a loved one could benefit from this sort of care.
